se pauser – sich im Blätterdach verlieren

Installation and Performance with Guillaume Barborini, Forêt de la Heidenkirche, France, 2013

«The branches spread out – high bridges over the earth. A slight breeze blew; the sun shone. It shone through the leaves, so that we had to shade our eyes with our hands to see Cosimo.»

The Baron in the Trees, Italo Calvio

An installation consisting of six hammocks invites the viewer to contemplate the forest from another point of view. The installation itself is not the subject matter of the work – it is rather the trees surrounding it and the act of pausing and reflecting on the environment.

During the opening, the two artists read parts of the book “The Baron in the Trees” from Italo Calvino during a walking performance.
